Don't steal my teddy bear!

The other day Carson and Elizabeth had their first "fight" about a toy. I'm sure it was the first of MANY! Carson stole a teddy bear from Elizabeth's room and ran under our bed with it (his favorite spot to take stolen goods...). I gave it back to Elizabeth while she was peacefully/sweetly laying on our bed. The next thing I knew Carson had jumped up on the bed (which he is NOT allowed to do) and tried to steal it right out of her hand! Unbelievable! There is never a dull moment at the Pohjola household. 

First Taste of Food!

Im so sorry that I haven't been updating our blog...life is a little crazy, and it seems to have slipped through the cracks. Elizabeth is growing like a weed....she is smiling, laughing, grabbing things (and my hair!), sitting in her Bumbo, playing in her office" and sometimes sleeping through the night!!! Every day she becomes more animated and even more fun. I know I'm biased, but she really is the cutest thing I've ever seen. 

Last weekend on Elizabeth's 5 month birthday, we gave her rice cereal...it was mostly milk, but nonetheless! We had a blast feeding it to her, and she seemed to enjoy it.

No more help...aah!

Scott and I have been "on our own" for the past 2 days now. Although it's been a bit overwhelming to go from having 4 hands to 2....it's been fun to figure out how to get everything done on my own. I got a shower first thing in the morning...Elizabeth was still asleep in her basket and I made Carson come into the bathroom with me. We ran some errands, made an emergency stop in the UCCS parking lot to feed Elizabeth, went to a doc appt and then a Junior League meeting, it was quite a busy day!!

Elizabeth is just over 5 weeks old now and is 9 lbs 9 oz and 22 inches long. She's growing like a weed...a few of her outfits are now tight!! Now I understand why parents always threatened to put a brick on my head so I would stop growing!

Milk..it does a body good...

We just went to the doc for a little check up and to our surprise Elizabeth weighs 8 lbs!! Apparently it's pretty unusual for a baby to gain weight so quickly...she must be liking what I'm feeding her. We figured it out and that would be about the same as me gaining 15 lbs in just two weeks, woah!!

We are loving being parents.

My mom leaves tomorrow (boo)..she has been such an amazing help, I don't know what I would have done without her the past 3+ weeks (I guess we would have starved, been wearing dirty clothes, no showers for me, no food in the fridge, etc...it would have been ugly!). Scott's mom comes on Monday (yeah)! I think we can handle the 48 hours in between the two on our own, but we'll see...

Baby Elizabeth is here!

Elizabeth Ann Pohjola arrived Sunday night, September 21st at 10:09. She was 6 lbs 13 oz and 20.5 inches long. She has brown hair like her mom and long fingers like her dad. It was love at first sight.

Friends and Family,
We hope you are all doing well...sorry if we've been out of touch recently, the last month has been insane! Scott starting school, finishing the basement, getting ready for Elizabeth to arrive, etc. Our hope is that this blog will be a place for you to watch Elizabeth grow and stay connected to what is going on in our lives.

My due date is September 22, so it could be anyday now. We're ready when she is! Stay tuned for pictures.
